is hosting in partnership with Friends of Lebanese Medical Association for Sexual Health (LebMash) an OutRight event bringing together LGBTIQ activists from the MENA region for a night to discuss challenges facing the community throughout the region, as well as the current state of activism.

SPEAKERS:

  • Bahrain: Nazeeha Saeed is an award winning Bahraini journalist, a leading human rights defender and women’s rights advocate.

  • Syria: Fadi Saleh lectures on gender and sexuality studies at the University of Bayreuth, Germany.

  • Lebanon:

    • Maya El Helou is a feminist researcher, a comic artist and the author of the page “Kharabish Nasawiya”.

    • Georges Azzi is the co-founder of Helem, a non-profit working on improving the legal and social status of LGBT people.
